The holiday is almost here!

Hello year 10,

Just wanted to wish you all a lovely summer holidays and give you an update on some philosophy and ethics stuff.

Big Project - this is your summer work for both P&E and when you return in september will have a knowledge test on this so its vital you put the work into it. Top tip - don't just copy and paste - really try and make it detailed but concise and so that you understand it.Try and be creative in your presentation so it isn't just masses of text on the page - include pictures if appropriate to help you remember. Having a solid foundation of your religion means that you can write much better exam answers.

If at any point you are stuck and want help - ask a question on here. Also - make use of some of the websites (i'll try and update on the blog if i find any useful ones) but focus on those websites like truetube.com as they have lots of videos on basic beliefs of religions. Well worth a look.

oh, also - you can access the details of the Big Project (if you happen to lose it) by going to Barracuda link on the school website. You log in with usual details for school computers and need to go to student shared folder, find RS/PSHCE, Philosophy and ethics GCSE - Big Project - choose your religion.

Also - check out the NEW "Guardian Ethics News" feed on the blog - this gets updated with lots of news stories that have some relevance to ethics and morality - really worth having a read of these and seeing if it fits into anything we are doing. So for example -  the phone hacking scandal and news of the world - has lots of links with justice and how we should treat criminals....what are your views?

So, please do a good job of the project and hope you have a relaxing and fun summer!
Miss Dorn :)
