Alaka's question: Does God create conflict?

  1. If we're going by the belief that God created the world and everything in it then yes He would've. I believe that all the conflict and all the fighting, whether that be in animals or (what was) in humans, is a part of who they are; in order to survive they had to fight, they had to kill each other. For humanity it's no longer a 'survival of the fittest' in that sense but the conflict we're now capable of has taken a whole new level. We're considered as the superior species, with higher intellect and the ability to reason, to feel. But what has this cost us? Supposedly inferior animals are killing each other to survive, that if they didn’t they’d be the ones dead. But since humans have evolved passed that point now and can survive without having to fight one another, why are we still fighting? But then again, can we really survive without conflict and war? War isn’t started because it’s our only way of survival, we're not blowing each other up to bits and pieces because we have to but because of humanity's petty selfishness and stubborn pride. So, if God really did create the world and everything in it, and humans were first programmed with the instinct to fight then yes, I would probably say He did create conflict. Is He then therefore responsible for the horrific effects of it though?

  2. personally i dont think that god creates conflict or that god created conflict in the beginning. i believe that conflict is created when one person or a group of people do not agree or believe the same thing as others and they want to prove that their theory is right so therefore a conflict is created between what is right and what is wrong.
also i dont see how god could create conflict as alot of the war in this world has nothing to do with god but with things like land and oil etc.
on the other hand could we really survive without war and violence and live in a peaceful world (i dont think so) and war has been going on for ages, you could almost argue that war is never ending.
