Jenny's question: Is war programmed into us as humans?

  1. From the very beginning human's have never given up on their constant urge for more. Whether it be the new computer game that's just been released or basic necessities such as food and shelter; we've always been greedy. However, there is a huge difference between the two, thousands of years ago when humans first evolved there was the need to kill one another, it was literally a fight for survival. But as time's gone by we've evolved and learnt to provide for ourselves, we understand how to feel and communicate with one another. We're able to respond if someone is feeling sad or hurt. Therefore you would think that we'd have grown out of the constant fighting but we haven't, in many respects it's become worse.
I believe that when humans first came about we LEARNT that we have to fight to survive. No one programmed that into us, we figured it out for ourselves. The problem is that we should by now have realised that we no longer need to behave in this way, we have everything we need. For countries to persue war is a far worse waste of time than figuring out ways to overcome it. If we need to focus our greed on something, it should be the want for a better society for us to live in.
