Lola's Question: How can people justify war when there are lots of innocent lives lost?

  1. There is no justification for war. there is nothing anyone can say to make it okay for innocent lives to be lost. And yet our leaders convince most of the population to fight so they must have reasons and justifications. In my eyes it is unjustifiable but many people disagree arguing that war is absolutely necessary.for example in Afghanistan, this war was started with the goal of dismantling the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization and ending its use of Afghanistan as a base. Unfortunately war isn't black and white. The goal may be beneficial in obtaining peace but we have no idea of the evils being committed to get to this point and against whom they are being committed.Quote"The enemy of America is not our many Muslim friends. It is not our many Arab friends. Our enemy is a radical network of terrorists and every government that supports them." George W bush. We may know who our enemies are but only fighting our enemies is a whole other issue. War is confusing innocent people always get hurt everyone gets caught up in it. Its never as simple as us vs them.War is not like a fight in the playground in war we can't always aim our punches accurately. Because of this war can't be justified.

  2. There is no justification for war but sadly that doesn't mean much. If a country wants to fight another country for whatever reason they will find any excuse and use it to justify war. Also many people believe that what they are doing is right and do not want to hear or believe in the horrible things that happen.

  3. I think that conflict is a necessary part of human life although it may not be morally corect i think that society wouldn't be able to function wihout it.However i do not belive that this is a reason to take the lives of the inocent,i belive evil shouldnt be able to overpower and kill the inocent.Other people may argue that sometimes war is inevitable and there really is no other option.War can lead to a happier outcome, and by going to war you may also be saving many inocent lives from those who are guilty.
Overall i belive that the taking of any life escpecially a inocent life is justifed. :)

  4. Some people think that war is necesary in order to achieve a cause, however I think that when so many innocent lives are lost as a consequence, it can hardly be justified.
